Module 1 Course 3: Fundamentals of Corporate Finance (Part 1)
This is a basic course on principles and concepts of corporate financial management. Part 1 of the course covers financial markets, the process of developing a company's financial plan, how to manage components of working capital such as cash and inventory, sources of short-term financing and the related costs, and sources of long-term financing and the related costs. The Supplemental Workbook includes four important examples: 1) Examples of Forecasted Financials and Budgets, 2) Example of Working Capital Analysis (Cash, Accounts Receivable and Inventory), 3) Examples of Short Term Financing Costs, and 4) Examples of Long-Term Financing Costs. Terminology used in the course is explained as a separate file within the Learning Management System.
The course consists of five chapters: Chapter 1 - Introductory Concepts (financial markets, concepts in finance), Chapter 2 - Planning and Forecasting, Chapter 3 - Working Capital Management, Chapter 4 - Short Term Financing, and Chapter 5 - Long Term Financing.
