Module 2 Course 1: Problem Solving
This is a good overall course to help anyone with problem solving and decision making. The course describes several approaches to problem solving and highlights some of the more common tools that people use for decision making. This course also describes the qualities behind both critical and creative thinking. Explanations are provided on how to assess and increase your ability to think both critically and creatively. A "whole brain" model is illustrated on the full range of thinking styles.
The course consists of three main chapters: Chapter 1 - Overall Frameworks (processes, tools, feasibility studies), Chapter 2 - Thinking Process (Left Brain vs. Right Brain, Whole Brain, Collaboration Tools), and Chapter 3 - Decision Making Tools (affinity diagrams, force field analysis, storyboarding). The course is designed for anyone wanting to improve their effectiveness with solving problems by applying much more mature practices to the decision making process.
